Why Choose Calypso Kids?
Classes are delivered by Emma-Jane, Lucy, Judith & Rebecca who all have a natural empathy with children.
Classes are carefully planned to be fun and educational and designed for everyone to enjoy making music together.
All classes are mixed age to cater for families and child minders with children of different ages.
Real instruments as well as baby-safe versions are available for child AND grown-up to explore and play together.
The classes are relaxed with realistic expectations allowing the children to learn and develop at their own pace.

Class Guidelines
Grown-ups are a child's first role model so your involvement during class is very important. The more you join in, give encouragement and praise, the more your child and you will benefit from such positive interaction.
Our guidelines are in place to enable all members of the class to have an enjoyable, relaxed and safe session so please follow them when you attend Calypso kids. Thank you.
- Parents and carers must take full responsibility for the children in their care during the class.
- Calypso Kids give children, from an early age, the opportunity to explore and play real instruments as well as 'baby-friendly' ones. Help your child to hold and play the instrument as taught in class. Our younger children will enjoy listening and watching their grown-up play the instrument as well as being fascinated by the older children in the class.
- To avoid collisions when collecting & returning instruments, guide your child to wait until a space becomes available.
- Discourage your child from placing instruments or props in their mouth. If they do, as they naturally will, please return these separately to the teacher to be cleaned.
- Apart from collecting and returning instruments, children must sit down with the instruments unless directed by the teacher.
- Children should not wander around with an instrument or prop; adults must hold on to the item until their child is happy to return.
- Please silence mobile phones once the class starts.
- Please can parents avoid chatting so as not to distract or disrupt other members of the class. Remember it's time to have musical fun with your child together.
- Where possible have food and drink after the class.
